Surprise Your Tastebuds With The Balinese Cuisine
When you are in Indonesia you should definitely give the traditional food a try! The best place to go to try Indonesian and Balinese food are warungs. A warung is a small traditional family restaurant where you will find the best Balinese food. You can find a warung in almost every street, but my favourite in Canggu is definitely Warung Yada. Here there is a small buffet with Indonesian dishes and you can fill your plate with whatever looks good to you.
P.S. Warungs are a great place to save some money on food, since they are very very cheap. At Warung Yada for example, you already have a plate of food for 25k IDR with is about 1,60 euros.
Learn How To Surf in Canggu
Canggu is also known as surfers paradise! Many people go to Canggu from all over the world for a surfing holiday. Along the beaches there are tons of places that offer surfing lessons for only a few euros.
If you don’t want to get out of the water yourself, watching the surfers is really fun too! A great place to watch the surfers is at Batu Bolong Beach Cafe
PRO TIP ➳ From Canggu you can take a 3-day Trip To Nusa Penida.
Go Dancing At Old Man’s
Old man’s is a beach club very close to the popular Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu. During the day Old Man’s is a really fun place to chill in the pool with a cocktail. But in the evening Old Man’s is turned into a relaxed club where you can dance and meet new people! There is a pool, you can order some food, or just enjoy a tropical cocktail!
Colourful Breakfast at The Loft
Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you should do it right. The Loft is a very nice cafe for breakfast and lunch in Canggu. It has incredible waffles, smoothie bowls, salads and other delicious food. Besides the delicious taste the cafe also has a very hip and has an open environment. (This cafe also makes a great work spot.)

Watch The Sunset At Tanah Lot
Tanah lot is a temple on the coastline of Canggu on a rock in the water. This temple on itself is not as exciting, but the sight of the temple standing in the water during sunset is really worth your while. The reflection of the coloured sky on the water, in contrast with the darkened Temple looks absolutely spectacular.
Because this Temple is one of the most popular places in Bali you do need to be prepared for a little bit of a crowd.
Wander In The Rice Fields Around Canggu, Bali
Canggu is surrounded by a lush green environment filled with rice fields, banana trees and coconuts farms. Even in the city centre of Canggu you can find beautiful rice paddies. Rent a motorbike, get out of the centre and just start driving around, I guarantee you will come across the most incredible natural scenery.
Shop At The Bazaar Market
All over Bali there are little markets. But in Canggu they take this a step further and made a very cozy market hall. The Bazaar Market in the centre of Canggu is a gathering of fun stands. You can buy here things like, dresses, jewellery, home decorations and wooden bowls.
The building itself is made of bamboo and is decorated in a very cute way. A big plus compared to other markets is that the owners of the shops are not pushy and you can look around at your own pace.
Have Lunch At The Crate Cafe
If you love beautiful and delicious food, Crate Cafe is the place to be! This cafe make the most beautiful and Instagram worthy food you have ever seen! From blue smoothies to avocado burger towers😍 and much more! Therefore, Crate Cafe is a great place for a big lunch. It might be a little bit more expensive then a warung but is also definitely worth it because it is an experience on itself (and compared to Europe it is still super cheap). Another thing that really fun about the Crate Cafe is that there are some long shared tables, which are great for a nice chat with other travellers.
Chill At The Beach
In Canggu there are several fun beaches to explore. My favourite thing to do on the beaches themselves is to visit a beach club. The beaches around Canggu are not particularly beautiful, but they have a fun and relaxed feel about them ❤️ (just like the ones on Nusa Lembongan). There are all kinds of beach clubs, varying in price range and luxury.
Tip ➳ For more beautiful beaches, visit Nusa Penida 😍

BONUS: Discover The Surroundings Of Canggu, Bali
A motorbike is very practical to use inside the city of Canggu. However, one of my favourite things to do is to explore the outside neighbourhoods and other villages. Once you drive outside the main-and crowded area you can really see what living in Indonesia looks like. Here you will find fun fruit stand, flower stores, and happy kids that are playing outside and much more. Because Canggu can be quite crazy and crowded, it is nice to get out of that craziness for a little while and enjoy the local life of Indonesia and Bali.
